Privacy Policy

SortMyDump is designed to keep your photos and videos private. The app does its sorting on your iPhone, and your photos and videos are not uploaded to SortMyDump, sent to our servers, or sent to external AI services.
This Privacy Policy applies to the SortMyDump iPhone app and the website at sortmydump.app.

The SortMyDump app
Photos and videos
SortMyDump accesses the photos and videos you choose so it can analyse, select and arrange them on your device.
This processing happens on your iPhone. SortMyDump does not receive, upload or store your photos, videos, thumbnails or analysis results on an external server.
SortMyDump analyses your selected photos and videos using on-device processing. Your content is not sent to generative AI services, external AI providers or cloud-based image analysis services, and is not used to train AI models.
When you save a result, SortMyDump creates an album in your Photos library containing your selected items. It does not intentionally alter or delete your original photos or videos.
If you use iCloud Photos, your Photos library may be synced by Apple according to your iCloud settings. This is controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by SortMyDump.
Photo library permission
SortMyDump asks for access to your Photos library so you can import photos and videos and save your finished album.
You can change or revoke this permission at any time through your iPhone’s privacy settings.
What we don’t collect
SortMyDump does not require an account and does not use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs.
We do not collect your photos or videos, contacts, precise location or browsing activity through the app, and we do not sell personal information.
Apple may provide developers with diagnostic or crash information where permitted by your Apple settings. Any such collection is controlled by Apple and subject to Apple’s privacy practices.
The website
The website at sortmydump.app does not currently use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels or marketing cookies.
Our hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and request time. This information is handled according to the hosting provider’s privacy practices.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in your message and your email address. We use it only to respond to you, provide support and keep any records reasonably necessary for those purposes.
The support form
If you send us a message using the form on our support page, we receive your name, your email address, the topic you select, your message, and the iPhone model and iOS version if you choose to add them.
We use this information only to answer you and provide support. Submissions are processed and stored by our website hosting provider, checked by an automated spam filtering service, and sent on to us by email. We keep them for as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with your request and to keep records of the support we have provided.
Our website hosting and spam filtering providers process this information in the United States, so your message is stored and processed outside Australia.
Where applicable privacy law requires additional safeguards for an international transfer, we take reasonable steps to use service providers and transfer arrangements that provide appropriate protection for personal information.

Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights relating to personal information we hold about you. We also aim to follow good privacy practices regardless of whether a particular privacy law applies.
Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to us, you may ask for access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. If you believe we have breached an applicable privacy requirement, you can complain to us at hello@sortmydump.app. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it where appropriate and respond within a reasonable period. You may also be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar laws apply, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing and data portability, depending on the circumstances. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
Where we process website technical information and support messages, we do so because it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, answering enquiries and providing support. Where applicable law requires your consent, we rely on your consent instead.
You do not have to contact us or use the support form. If you do use it, the required fields are the information we need in order to understand and answer your request. The iPhone model and iOS version are optional.
We keep support messages for as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with your request and to keep a record of the support we have provided, and we delete them once that is no longer the case.
We do not use the personal information we hold to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Because SortMyDump does not receive your photo or video library, we cannot access, retrieve or delete those items for you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if SortMyDump, the website or our privacy practices change. The latest version will always appear on this page with the updated date.
